Cats are smarter than dogs. You can't get eight cats to pull a sled through snow.

To whom it may concern…

Why do you think I didn’t choose Physical Education as an option for my GCSEs? Could you possibly take a guess? Maybe it’s because I have no interest whatsoever in the intellectualisation of exercise. Maybe it’s because I do not wish to be forced into some kind of rigorous training programme which involves swimming (!!!) and long distance running (!!!!!!). At the moment I am not writing an English essay, which I should be writing, because I am ranting about the fact that you’re taking PE too seriously. I believe the reason it is compulsory in England to do at least one hour of PE per week in school, is because we need exercise. Not because we need to sit around talking about nothing. I’d much rather be outside playing netball, than inside having a test on the seven things we need for a balanced diet. We cover that in Biology, thank you. I’m not even taking an exam in PE and will not leave school with a GCSE in the subject. Your paperwork is pointless. Please stop before you force me into doing something silly (cough) like scribbling all over it.
Signed,
Infuriated Student.

Take me back in time…

… on the Wayback Machine. I’ve been snooping around my old site, Twiskers.net. The domain expired a few days ago, actually. I just thought I’d look at the stuff I wrote in my blog (around February 2005) which got me into huge trouble at school, when a nosy so-and-so of a teacher went and saw it (remember: you’re not Inspector Morse, just a teacher. Ten bloody points for searching my name on Google. It’s not that hard). I also found some poorly designed “graphics” containing dolls and the like. I’ve certainly come a long way since 2004, that’s for sure.

Ah well, it’s back to procrastinating and painting a massive Union Flag on my art folder while listening to some rock’n'roll for me.

Orange hair and burning test tubes.

On Saturday, I went to the Bullring. Y’know, the place in Birmingham, big shiny buildings, lots of tourists… etc. I walked around for a bit and went to the Oasis (punk/rock/emo/whatever type clothes place) and saw some orange hair dye. I said to my friend “I’ll look like Hayley Williams from Paramore if I dye my hair orange”. I was joking initially, and then she gave me the “I dare you” look. And lo, I dyed my hair orange.
It looks pretty cool.
Pictures? Yes, of course, you want pictures. Duh.

I look a bit like a box of tic-tacs with that orange hair and those green eyes.
I still find that amusing, even though I’ve told that to about fifty people who don’t find it funny at all (:
And in case you were wondering, my hair was blonde :P

We were breaking down long chain hydrocarbons (whatever that means) in chemistry today, and we were reacting paraffin with something. There was a crack in our boiling tube and the (highly flammable) gas we were making (by heating the mixture over a Bunsen burner flame) escaped. You can probably guess what happened next. Test tube on fire. I actually thought it was hilarious. We shouted to the teacher “MISS THE TEST TUBE’S ON FIRE” but she ignored us. Some teacher, eh? We blew the fire out (somehow) and about five minutes later she came up to us and said “did you say your test tube was on fire?” Reminds me of that episode of the IT crowd with the fire, and Moss sends an email to someone instead of calling 999.

I also got my SATs results back for English, Maths and Science. All level seven (the highest), with the exception of English Reading, which I got level six in. My overall English level was still seven, though.

I plan on changing the layout sometime. I have a design, but all my patterns, styles and shapes that I made for this layout (which I want to use) are cached in Photoshop CS3, which won’t load anymore because the trial has run out. Meh.

Feeling useful and smart today.

I feel useful.
Search “display 10 links from blogroll randomly” on Google. My tutorial/guide is on the first page. And I got two hits from that search.
I stalk stats.

My blog inspiration has obviously taken a dip recently. School is sucking out all my life force and throwing my lifeless, cold body into a state of mental slumber. That has to be the most confusing and I-do-not-understand-what-I-just-wrote sentence I have written today. In other news, my new least favourite lesson is art (shocking, huh?), I now enjoy writing history essays (ha, as if I didn’t before), and I actually understand English. I also understand the ins and outs of graphical inequalities, and I know what total internal reflection is.

My physics teacher drew a diagram of the Earth with a phone mast on it, to show how the Earth gets in the way of microwaves. I courteously pointed out that had that been real, said mast would have been about 500 miles high. He went to Oxford as well. Ha ha.
I know it was only a diagram. But 500 miles, for christ’s sake…
Tish: smart arse.

11th September 2007

I can’t think of a title.

Is my site just too awesome? Is that why nobody is reviewing it on YS.nu? :P
Go on (:

I wont bore you with the details of my first few days back at school. Basically, we’re all mixed up for lessons now, and we have some new teachers. One teacher I’ve had for two years already, and I’ve only just realised that she has a Yorkshire accent. And another teacher looks like action man and sounds like Tony Blair. Hilarious, I know.

Oh yeah, and how the hell do you get to my site by searching “emo clothes for cats”? Haha.
Who would search that anyway?
Is there someone, somewhere, dressing their cat up in black and sticking safety pins through its ears as we speak?
Deary me.

5th September 2007

Ahoy there

It’s currently 9:27am and I’m leaving for school at 10:10. We only have to be in at 11:25 because of all the little year sevens who get to go in early. Aww.
I couldn’t get up this morning. 8am has to be the earliest I’ve woken up all holiday. And now I feel like such a lazy arse. Let’s see what I’ve accomplished during my holiday, in order:

  • I got into the final six for the SUSO art competition
  • I had my birthday! 14 grand years old. I feel wise.
  • Had £100 from my granddad and spent it on clothes… and hairspray ;)
  • Got my hair cut
  • Went to the Apple store to buy my shiny MacBook!
  • Went to Teen Culture (snore) and raved like a lunatic
  • Watched everyone else go on holiday
  • Didn’t go to Holland :(
  • Got asked by everyone: “why would you want to go to Holland?” - I was born there ;)
  • Got bored and registered thecatmafia.net because it became possible
  • Wrote an essay on censorship because I felt like it (see Goodies section)
  • Bought shoes for school
  • Found out I was the runner up in the art competition and won £50 :D
  • Got pins and needles from sitting awkwardly on my bed with my laptop

No holiday affairs or interesting things like that here. Although, I suppose I’ve done a fair bit in six weeks. I went in with 13 years of age, came out with 14, a MacBook, a haircut, new clothes, a domain name and £50. I guess I did pretty good, huh? :P
Off to school now, if I can find my (non-existent) tie. No, I don’t wear a tie, I’m just confusing myself. I can’t spell either. Girls’ grammar schools really take their toll on your sanity, you know (:

2nd September 2007

Oh yay.

Back to school in two days.
After three years of messing about, not doing any work and swearing at teachers behind their backs, I have to actually get down to business and be serious. Guaranteed, I will burst out laughing in the middle of one of their “this is serious” assemblies. I don’t want to grow up. Yet I feel myself getting older and older as time passes me by.
I will have to make new friends, as we are getting mixed up for lessons this year. In other schools I think you get mixed from the start, but not us. Up until year ten, we have lessons in the same form, with the exception of ICT and D&T where we the forms are split into halves.
I guess I’m kind of excited to see all my friends again, but I really don’t want to have to do any work. I like lazy time. Oh well, roll on November 26th, I’m going to see the Kaiser Chiefs! I’m already excited. I wish Ricky would crowd surf so I could touch him at least. I don’t think he will though, the stage is too far away from the crowd at the NIA (or so I’ve been told). I can’t believe it. I’ll actually see them all, real, alive, in the flesh. I want to touch Nick’s hair, damnit :P
Right, so I’ve wandered off into another topic as usual. I’m currently sitting at my laptop with a jar of Nutella, drowning my sorrows in it. I might get a cup of tea actually. Here I am, wandering again. My mind is in no state to return to the (run by hypocritical fascists) institute of learning. I can’t spell, I can’t write legibly, I can’t add and I can’t think in a straight line. In the words of the Beatles: help! :S :rawr:
